Erin Bonner, Clinician/Owner

Registered Psychologist

My passion is helping individuals find their path to wellness. I believe in holistic wellness and that integrating various modalities of treatment enhances the benefits of therapy. I encourage my clients to be curious about how they can cultivate lifestyle changes to think, emote and behave in ways that foster personal wellbeing and contentment.

I am passionate about my role in helping others navigate their individual paths to wellness. In my 20s I lost my younger brother and then my mother and through my own therapeutic journey I discovered my calling to help others work on understanding and processing emotions and achieve their own personal growth.

Specialties

I specialize in treating individuals who experience depression, anxiety, ADHD, PTSD, cPTSD, emotion dysregulation, grief, OCD, and in helping individuals learn to love themselves and develop strong relationships with the people in their lives. I have a special interest in working with individuals who identify as highly sensitive and/or who experience emotions at a higher intensity than the average person (regardless of diagnosis).

I also love to work with parents of highly emotional teens and children to help them learn strategies to evolve their parenting to work more effectively.

In addition to providing general therapy, I also offer sport psychology for equestrians. I myself am an avid equestrian and have been competing in the sport since I was young. In my teens I was highly competitive and rode with a prolific coach in the area. Working with a sport psychologist in my teens was pivotal in my success in the saddle and it is a passion of mine to help athletes in the equestrian world connect mental and emotional training with their physical training programs. If you need help overcoming mental and emotional blocks that impede performance, I may be the right therapist for you!

I work with adults and teens 14+.

Kassey Shier, Clinician

Canadian Certified Counsellor

I love working with individuals who are navigating a major life transition—whether it’s a breakup, career change, divorce, or the realization that the path they’ve been on no longer fits. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or held back by past experiences and are looking for support in moving forward. As a trauma-focused therapist trained in EMDR, I help individuals process and heal from the past while building the confidence and tools to create meaningful change. If you’re ready to rewrite your story and step into a more empowered version of yourself, I’d love to support you on your journey.

Theoretically, I like to draw from different styles such as EMDR, person-centered, strength-based, humanistic, CBT, solution-based, and rational-emotive behavioural therapy. My goal is to adapt my approach to the needs of my clients.

I believe in the power of human connection, resilience, and growth. Navigating my own journey through therapy and wellness, I discovered the significant impact of holding an empathic understanding space for someone, which continues to fuel me in my drive to help others. In my work I am passionate in empowering others to be the best versions of themselves by providing a gentle guidance as they develop tools, understanding and shift the narratives they have been living to better suite who they truly are.

Specialties

I specialize in offering a compassionate ear for individuals who are experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship issues, grief, or trauma. My work is centered around empowering each one of my clients on their journey through self-discovery and learning to accept thing within their life that may feel out of control.

Along side providing general therapy, I do work with couples and families who are looking for a little extra support in feeling heard within their relationships. I also offer support to teens (14+) to help understand emotions, feelings, and the sense of growing up.

Ceilidh McLeod, clinician

Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying)

My passion is supporting individuals as they find their path to well-being. I believe in a holistic, whole-person approach to therapy, where integrating various therapeutic modalities enhances the journey. I encourage clients to explore how small, intentional changes in how they think, feel, and act can foster deep, lasting contentment.

Drawing on personal experiences, I am passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges. In my 20s, I witnessed firsthand the profound impact of addiction on families - my best friend lost her sister to drug addiction, and my uncle lost his life to alcoholism. Along with this, my journey in supporting military personnel and their families across the world has shown me how mental health affects not only the individual but everyone close to them. Through my own therapeutic path, I discovered my calling: to help others explore their inner worlds, process emotions, and cultivate personal growth.

I understands that every person’s journey is unique. I am here to create a safe, nurturing space where you can deepen self-understanding, heal past wounds, and find the inner peace and strength to gently shape the life you desire. Whether you're facing past trauma, a major life transition, or seeking greater emotional well-being, I am ready to walk with you on your path toward growth and self-acceptance. My approach is rooted in empathy, collaboration, and evidence-based practices, ensuring you feel genuinely heard, understood, and empowered to create lasting change in a safe, supportive space.

I know that taking the first step toward support can feel challenging, but you’re not alone. I am here to listen, support you, and help you find a path that feels right for you. Whatever you’re facing, we’ll navigate it together, at a pace that feels comfortable. You deserve to feel heard, understood, and empowered on your journey forward.

Specialties

I specialize in supporting individuals facing PTSD, childhood trauma, self-esteem and body image issues, and I have a keen interest in men’s mental health. With over a decade of experience working alongside military families, I understand the unique challenges of military life, deployments, and solo parenting, and the impact these stressors can have on both individuals and their loved ones. I have a particular interest in working with military families and individuals who are navigating transitions, helping them build resilience and strengthen family bonds.

In addition to my experience, I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and trained in IFS-informed therapy, emotional eating, and body image. These specialised skills allow me to bring a depth of understanding to trauma and identity work, helping clients feel fully seen and supported.

SARAH SIMPSON, GRADUATE INTERN THERAPIST

Sarah will be with EBP from January - August 2025

My experience with therapy highlighted the profound value of having access to a dedicated, nonjudgmental space for self-exploration and healing. This journey not only transformed my life but also inspired me to become a therapist committed to providing a compassionate, empathetic, and safe space where individuals can grow, heal, and embrace their authentic selves.

As a mother, I am deeply passionate about supporting maternal mental health, including the unique challenges of pregnancy, postpartum, and parenting. I am also drawn to working with adolescents and young adults, helping them navigate the complexities of identity, relationships, and life transitions.

I draw from various therapeutic approaches, including cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT), person-centred therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. This integrative approach allows me to tailor my practice to meet the unique needs of each client.

Sessions with me are offered at a significantly reduced rate with a sliding scale option. The Intern program at EBP operates with a "pay what you can" up to $50 model and the goal is to reduce barriers to therapy services; we offer pro-bono and reduced fees with no questions asked. Please note that as I am pre-licensed that my services are typically not eligible for benefits reimbursement unless you have a health spending account.

karissa proctor, graduate intern therapist

Karissa will be with EBP until August 2025

Since 2019, I have worked as a teacher, gaining valuable experience collaborating with children, families, and professionals to advocate for student well-being. These experiences pushed me to look deeper into the psychological and emotional needs of individuals, and I became passionate about making direct and meaningful change on an individual level.

Mental well-being is a deeply personal, multi-faceted journey based on individual experiences. This is why I value a client-centered approach and view counselling through an integrative lens. I recognize the importance of tailoring care to each client, through the facilitation of a safe and supportive environment. I draw primarily from cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and mindfulness-based techniques, focused on creating a personalized and holistic framework of care.

Meaningful and lasting change starts from within, and I am privileged to be supporting clients on this journey of health, healing, and happiness.
